British Toad in the Hole

Preheat the oven to 220°C. Pour a little oil into a baking dish and heat in the oven until smoking hot.

Whisk flour, eggs, and milk with a pinch of salt until you have a smooth, thin batter.

Brown sausages in a pan for a few minutes first.

Quickly place the sausages into the hot oil in the baking dish.

Immediately pour the batter over the sausages.

Place back into the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes without opening the door until the batter is risen, golden, and crispy.

Serve with onion gravy.
